How present is your past?

For decades, I ignored the signs, so clear now, that enabled me to persist on a path of self sabotaging behaviours that led to self destructive consequences. Travel this journey with us to discover how your life today is affected by the dysfunctionality carried from your childhood.

Life may appear as a chain of random events ending in similar outcomes. Individually analysed they may seem like a random throw of dices. So different in their appearance, diverse in their nature. Standing back looking at the bigger picture, frightening patterns of similarities emerge. The day you open your eyes, the day the picture is clear, you wonder how your life could have been. At the same time a glimmer of satisfaction appears as you now know you have abandoned that road, once and for all. A new horizon is as bright as you have ever seen. It is by turning back in acceptance and compassion that you can redesign your future. It is by looking back that you make sure that you will not travel the same roads that led you to where you are today.
The past does not define your future but it is the path that paved your road. It is the reason of where your are today. It is hard to press the pause button, analyse your behaviour, see the patterns and realise that something went wrong. It is hard to admit it, even more so is to accept it without blaming. To look at your past and smile ahead. It is so hard that we rarely realise the scars that we hold and the weights that we carry on our shoulders. We love in ignorance and our mind chose to repress the memories. Unfortunately forgetting also means to loose the compass that gives us direction to our destination - the fulfilment of life.
This blog is a series of chapters that will lead you to the path of discovering if your today is unconsciously manipulating your present. Discover the signs of a childhood trauma, realise the pattern, see your self destructive behaviour and ultimately learn to accept, overcome and rise above.
